E-Cigarettes were invented to help smokers to quit smoking. But it is getting increasingly popular with teenagers, even those who have never smoked. Over 10,000 children were surveyed about their use of e-cigarettes. Using it at least once was more common than having smoked a conventional cigarette among all the age groups.

The results show that e-cigarettes may have a wider appeal among all sectors of the teen population. Even though e-cigarettes are unlikely to make a major direct contribution to adolescent nicotine addiction at present, it is still unsure if e-cigarettes might lead to increase in conventional smoking.

Chances of e-cigarettes usage were 100 times higher among current weekly smokers than among non-smokers. This strong link shows that e-cigarettes were not used among tends to help them quit smoking.
