You must be thinking how awful one looks when they are drunk. A new study finds that have one to two glasses of wine can make the drinker look more attractive to others. However, above that amount, one does not look more attractive than sober.
The beer goggles effect study suggest that consuming alcohol increase the ratings of attractiveness of others.
This study shows that it work both ways as the alcohol consumption increases the ratings of attractiveness of the consumer by others. An alcohol consumer may also be perceived by others as more attractive.
In the study, volunteers were photographed at sober and various alcohol consumption state. And their photos were rated for attractiveness. Volunteers who had drunk 250ml of wine were rated more attractive than those who were sober or drunk 500ml.

The researchers think that it could be due to the increase of skin blood perfusion in the skin, hence there is an increase in red colouration which is perceived as more attractive and ‘healthy glow”.
Or it could also be due to low doses of alcohol improving the consumer’s mood, which could be seen through smiles and relaxation.
