Documentary on Schizoaffective Disorder

Posted on October 29, 2013

Schizoaffective disorder is a mental disorder characterized by disordered thought processes (called psychosis) and abnormal emotional responses (called mood disorder). Common symptoms of psychosis include auditory hallucinations, paranoid delusions, and disorganized speech and thinking. Schizoaffective disorder is divided into two mood disorder types: bipolar or depressive. The bipolar type is distinguished by symptoms of mania, hypomania, or mixed episodes; the depressive type by symptoms of depression exclusively. Symptoms of schizoaffective disorder usually begin in young adulthood.

This is a short documentary made by Jonny Benjamin about what life is like to live with this mental disorder. The purpose of the video is to give hope to those living with a mental illness and hopefully help others get started on the road to their own recovery.
