Introduction to The Rorschach

Date: 6 Sep 2023

Online

But it’s only an inkblot! Ever since Hermann Rorschach published “Psychodiagnostics” in 1921, the test that took his name has been widely used and much debated. Reputedly dubbed the “Queen of tests” by Bruno Klopfer, the test has survived criticism, with 21 countries around the world contributing to the list of member organizations of the International Society for the Rorschach.

In this introductory webinar, you will get an overview of what this test offers to those who use it. You will learn what it does – and what it does not do. With over 100 years of clinical research to support its use, you will gain an appreciation for the psychometric rigor of the test enabling you to decide whether you want to invest in the training that will be offered in 2024.

Dr Kari Carstairs is a clinical psychologist in private practice in London. Ever since her graduate training in Philadelphia in the 1980s, she has been fascinated by the Rorschach. She is Past President of the British Rorschach Society and First Vice President of the International Society for the Rorschach and Projective Methods.

She has published case studies and normative data for England with the test and she was a guest editor for the Special Centennial edition of Rorschachiana, the international journal published by Hogrefe. She has taught psychologists administration, scoring and interpretation in London and in Hong Kong. She continues to use the test in her expert witness practice for the Courts in the UK.
