Playing video games can increase your attention to detail. An example given is how quickly you can identify the color of words when the words used are colors as well. Research has shown that people who play 5-10 hours of game a week, your brain will be able to process this test faster than someone who has not.

However, like anything else, too much of a good thing is bad for you. So make sure you are not spending too much time playing games at the expense of sleep, studying or exercising.
