Mental Health First Aid Certificate Course

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognized qualification that helps participants to assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis.

Participants learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, including suicide awareness and prevention.


Aims of MHFA

1. Increasing mental health literacy among participants

2. Enhancing participants’ confidence to help someone developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis

3. Reducing stigmatization of mental health problems

4. Facilitating early detection of mental health problems

5. Promoting early intervention with people developing mental health problems

6. Learn signs and symptoms of common mental health problems such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Psychosis and Substance Misuse
