Water Play Therapy

Date: 27 Apr 2019 - 28 Apr 2019

Singapore

Water Play Therapy is a unique therapeutic approach using water as the main expressive medium, building on art therapy and play therapy theories and practices. Mrs. Yael Livneh, Expressive Art Therapist and author of "Rising on Water", has kindly accepted Colourfully's invitation to facilitate this introductory workshop for the first time in Asia.

Water Play Therapy enables individuals to express their feelings and project dynamically their personal narratives in an accessible and non-threatening space. This method uses symbols, objects, colours, creation, play and storytelling, bridging the gap between the inner and outer worlds.

Water Play Therapy has been found extremely effective with children who suffer from trauma, severe emotional regulation difficulties, attachment issues, sensory processing disorders, and social difficulties.

This two-day workshop will demonstrate how Water Play Therapy is facilitated in a therapeutic setting and how it heals. After the training, participants will be able to integrate water and its unique expressive properties in their sessions with children and adults.
