Group Supervision & Reflective Practice Masterclass

This workshop reviews the basic components of supervision, locates group supervision and reflective practice within a competency-based framework, introduces evidence-based and practice-informed principles of group process and group supervision, and provides participants with a framework for (peer) group supervision practice, together with opportunity for consolidation through experiential exercises.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

- Describe the principles underlying group supervision and reflective practice within a competency-based approach to supervision

- Demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based and practice-informed principles of processes within group supervision

- Demonstrate skills in establishing a peer supervision group, and then leading group participants through a number of group supervision tasks

- Demonstrate the use of reflective feedback and evaluation of group process


WORKSHOP PRESENTER | Mark Donovan

Mark Donovan is a Clinical Psychologist who specialised in Supervision as well as child and family work for over 25 years in Australia and the United Kingdom. He teaches and supervises the clinical psychology program at the University of Wollongong and is the director and supervisor of Northfield Clinic. He is the lead-trainer and partner of the Reflective Supervision Team.

Mark has previously worked in University and Health Service settings in the United Kingdom and Australia. Mark has trained supervisors for the Australian Psychological Society over the past five years as a Board-Approved trainer, delivering workshops on competency-based clinical supervision. Mark has run workshops in Singapore over the past two years to a range of local practitioners. Mark enjoys bringing workshop materials to life through interactive discussions, live demonstrations and skills practice.
