Singapore

This is the first Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TC-TSY) Foundational Workshop organised in Singapore. Kristen Pringle, traveling from Melbourne to facilitate this program, is a senior Mental Health Clinician, Occupational Therapist, University Supervisor, Yoga Therapist & one of only three licensed TC-TSY trainers and certification supervisors in Australasia.
The 20 hour TC-TSY Foundational Workshop will introduce you to the core concepts and applications of the highly regarded, evidence-based yoga program for adults and youth affected by PTSD, developmental or complex trauma, dissociative disorders and other related difficulties.

The Foundational workshop is intended to support those working in the mental health field to bring the body into treatment when working with people affected by traumatic stress. This 20-hour workshop (16 hours in person, 4 hours self-study) is based on the robust research from the Trauma Center, of the Justice Resource Institute in Brookline, MA, USA.
This professional training is designed for mental health clinicians, counsellors, educators, and other health care professionals who are looking to:

• deepen their understanding of the whole-system impact of complex trauma

• deepen their understanding of trauma theories, attachment, neurophysiology, interoception & present moment experience, choice-making & agency, and the use of language in therapy and yoga facilitation

• expand their current practice to incorporate trauma sensitive movement and breath practices, that are vital to the healing process of complex trauma, within the participant’s scope of practice

• learn about the methodology and evidence-base of the TCTSY model (TCTSY is an evidence-based adjunct treatment for complex trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), dissociative disorders and other related behavioural and emotional presentations).

This workshop will be delivered using several teaching mediums, including: interactive seminars with accompanying handouts; small and large group work and discussion; demonstration and participation in components of a TCTSY class and individual sessions; facilitation practice; use of lived experience; and clinical and yoga class examples.
