The Future of Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Date: 7 Nov 2016

Australia, New South Wales, Sydney

Perhaps more than at any other time in history, our society is concerned about the mental health of our young people. Psychologists who work with children and adolescents are at the forefront of providing information, therapy and guidance to parents, schools, governments and most importantly, young people themselves. It is paramount that psychologists are equipped not only with the most up to date information about the current status of child and adolescent mental health, but that we are preparing for what the next decade may hold for young people and those who care for them.

This one-day conference brings together a range of prominent Australian mental health authorities to consider three crucial questions on child and adolescent mental health:

1. What do we currently know about the state of child and adolescent mental health?

2. What key challenges remain unanswered?

3. What lies on the horizon –in terms of mental health trends and interventions – that all those who work with young people should know about?

This conference is primarily intended for any psychologist who works with children and adolescence – in schools, clinics, or hospitals. However, it will be highly relevant to any mental health professional with an interest in child and adolescent mental health.
