Date: 30 Jul 2016 - 3 Aug 2016
Japan, Nagoya
The theme of the congress, “Honoring Traditions and Creating the Future” reflects the character of Nagoya, a modern metropolis where cultural tradition and advanced technology co-exist. This area is known for manufacturing industries such as the state-of-the-art automobiles produced in the adjacent city of Toyota, while its historical monuments bring you back to the medieval days when this region sprouted legendary samurai warriors, including the first Tokugawa Shogun, that united and ruled the nation. The harmony between the old and new should also have a profound meaning for cross-cultural psychology studies of today, faced with tensions between traditional values and societal structure on one hand and rapid changes and growing diversity that can be found globally on the other hand. Our scientific committee is planning a number of academic events that can help researchers with diverse backgrounds from different parts of the world work together to tackle these current issues.
