With our aging population, addiction among the older adult is becoming a growing concern. The helping profession needs to be able to understand the stressors contributing to addiction among our seniors, as well as the treatment uniquely applicable to this group of clientele.
This workshop aims to sensitise helping professionals to the reality and issues of addiction among the older adult. It will show participants how and why the older adult are prone to addictions of all sorts, and the interventions and treatments that have been proven effective.
