The theme of the 3rd ICPAS is “Nurturing Values and Strengths in Individuals and Society: Role of Psychology”, which is very relevant in the current scenario. India has a rich tradition of Values, Ethos and Heritage. However, in the recent years, there seems to be a decline in these aspects at the global level. This is visible in the sporadic incidence of violence, terrorism and unrest among the society. Living with values will be manifested as showing humility, compassion, sharing, caring and social responses. Values are expressed desirable behavior. This needs to be nurtured. Strength can enhance our sense of pride, confidence and well being. These two constituents of human psyche can enhance the quality of life in this planet.
This interdisciplinary conference will generate meaningful deliberations leading to the formulation of strategies for nurturing values and strength in individual and society through psychological approach. It may open up new avenues for a healthy, happy and peaceful life in this global village.
